Our Corporate Solutions
Team & Leadership Retreats
An immersive session designed to foster "Quiet Focus" and creative problem-solving. Using the discipline of Ikebana, teams explore intentional decision-making and the concept of Ma (negative space). This tactile, meditative experience serves as a sophisticated alternative to traditional team-building, strengthening cohesion through a shared creative journey.
The Client Experience
A refined gesture of Omotenashibana (hospitality) for international partners and high-value guests. This private masterclass offers a memorable alternative to formal dinners, providing a high-end cultural immersion that reflects your brand’s depth and attention to detail. Conducted in fluent English, it is an intimate and impressive experience.
Ikebana for Your Space
Transform your professional environment with bespoke floral sculptures. This service includes Uketsukebana (weekly reception rotations) and large-scale installations for boardrooms or events. These “architectural florals” are designed to harmonise with modern office interiors, serving as a sophisticated silent ambassador for your brand.

Who We Are
Gontadou Modern Ikebana Studio is a contemporary space in the heart of Tokyo dedicated to Sogetsu—one of Japan’s pre-eminent ikebana schools. We move beyond traditional arrangement, treating the plant as a medium for sculptural expression and personal creative discovery. Through nuanced English-language instruction, the studio serves as a bridge for international guests and residents to master this heritage art with a distinctly modern sensibility.
What is Sogetsu Ikebana
Founded in 1927, the Sogetsu School revolutionised Japanese floral art. While we remain grounded in traditional aesthetics, we believe Ikebana should be boundless—practised anytime, anywhere, and with any material. This philosophy encourages you to see the natural world with new eyes. Whether using seasonal branches from a Tokyo market or botanicals from your own garden, Sogetsu opens the door to truly unique, personal compositions. From intimate home displays to grand public installations, our work enriches every space it inhabits.
Experience this shift in perspective. Join us in the studio for a private session and begin your first arrangement.
The Instructor
Benedict Tsang ( 顕豪 )
Sogetsu Ikebana Artist & Certified Instructor
Benedict is a Tokyo-based, certified Sogetsu ikebana artist and instructor. He began his ikebana journey in Kyoto, later continuing his training in Hong Kong under Ho Hin Shing, where he earned his teaching certification. In 2024, he relocated to Tokyo to further his studies under Sogetsu master Reiko Takenaka, while developing an independent practice rooted in both tradition and contemporary expression.
Recognised by the Japanese government for his professional mastery, Benedict is one of the rare recipients of the official Japanese Artist Visa—granted to established cultural practitioners working in Japan. A certified Sogetsu teacher, his work spans exhibitions, large-scale installations, and cross-cultural workshops. He has participated in international exhibitions, collaborated with designers and brands, and contributed to major seasonal installations, including New Year arrangements at Hotel New Otani Tokyo. His work has been featured in media and publications across Japan and Hong Kong.
Fluent in four languages, Benedict brings a global sensibility to his practice, making the depth of Japanese aesthetics accessible to international audiences. In 2025, he was part of a group awarded the Sogetsu Excellence Award. Through his work, he creates spaces for cultural exchange, bridging tradition and contemporary life through ikebana.
